  1. Hey, at the moment I'm using winAVI to convert my AVIs to Mpeg2 files, just because its fast as hell, but I have run into a problem with it. you can sort of select the size of the output file by selecting the disc size, but are there any other programs that i can use where I can select the output file size more accuratly, because they sometimes end up too big using win AVI.

    You can shrink the dvd with dvdshrink if it is too big.

    or use an encoder where you can specify the bitrate and get the output size you want. Like tmpgenc , tmpgenc xpress (built in calculators if you use the wizard mode) or mainconcept mpeg encoder, canopus procoder basic and use a bitrate calc like videohelp bitrate calculator.
