I am trying to play some avi files on my Dlink DSM320 media center. They do contain some PAL material.
The avi files lockup the 320. I think they are slightly corrupt. I can, however, burn a VCD no problem with Nero. The problem could be the media server software on the PC or the 320 itself. It could also be the avi files themselves. I would like to eliminate the problem if it is the files themselves.
Is there a program that will scan avi files an look for problems and fix them? I have Virtualdub. Information on how to use Virtualdub for this is non existant so far in my research. It does have a scan files option, but I don't know if it is doing anything....it just runs and the program resumes.
Any help or suggestions to "verify" avi files would be appreciated.
The 320 WILL play avi files from other sources.

After scanning with Vdub it should report on the bottom line of the window any bad or undecodable frames and any that are "masked". Masked frames are marked for deletion so if you have some than all you do is set your audio and video to "direct stream copy" then save avi. Be sure to give your avi a new name when saving.
