Hi
I can't get the hang of the TRIM window in Premiere Pro 1.5
When I select a track and click TRIM in the 'project' window,
the Trim monitor opens Left & Right Video windows.
BUT it only happens once.
If I open the Trim a second time - all I get is Audio windows.
I have made sure that the TOGGLE 'take audio & video' is set correctly.
In the end - the only way to start TRIM again, is to restart PPro from scratch.
Any ideas.
Thanks - Stephen

I'm not really following your workflow, but I can tell you a little bit about my workflow. After I import a movie asset, which is usually a NTSC DV AVI, into the project window, I drag it over to the left-hand monitor (making sure that the workspace is set to Editing under the Window/Workspace menu). I then use the different playback controls, play, stop, jog, shuttle, etc. to scrub the video and I set my in and out points with the I and O keys on the keyboard, respectively. Once, I'm happy with the in and out points, I drag the actual video clip from the left hand monitor down to the appropriate point on the timeline. To prepare the next asset (or clip), I drag it onto the left-hand monitor and repeat the process. As far as the Take Audio and Video, I guess that I was never aware of it, but for an AVI mine is always set to take both video and audio (to the timeline, presumably). The right-hand monitor as far as I am concerned is only for previewing the rough-cut or final product, i.e., the timeline itself.
Tools used: ScenalyzerLive 4.0, Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0, Adobe After Effects 7.0 Professional, Adobe Encore DVD 2.0, IFOedit 0.96, DVD-lab PRO 1.53, Adobe Audition 2.0 -
Thanks Erayboul.
The Trim Option is found at the bottom right hand side of the Right Hand Window (the project window).
The Trim Option allows very fine cutting of frames.
What is supposed to happen is that you get TWO windows open,
the left window (I think) is the Next Frame - and the right window is the Previous Frame (these seems backtofront to me - but hey, I'm only a newbie, so what do i know!). On the Trim Option you also get extra controls.
Thanks - Stephen -
I found the answer - you must select the track you want to work on.
