I went to backup a DVD today and vobblanker says it found multi angle and ILV cells and that they will be skipped.

The result is that a 8GB movie is now only 2GB and I cant find the main movie file anywhere.

Is there a program like Vobblanker that will support movies with angles and ILV cells?

I cant tell the difference between the so called angle files and the feature?

There are 4 of them all the same size and when previewed there is no difference.

Come to think of it I cant remember any angle options when watching the movie ????

I think it could be a bug perhaps.

The movie is The Lion King 2-Disc Special Edition Region 4. There are some special features like interactive games and stuff but the files that VobBlanker skips are that of the movie itself.

I've had this type of problem in the past with Disney/Pixar animation. It seems they multiangle any scene having text, like main title or readable text on the scene, for the different language tracks. If you preview the angles in VobBlanker you will see, for example, they have the animated title sequence in English, Spanish, & French. For now, VobBlanker cannot handle multiangles

Two ways (that I've done) to get around this and still use VobBlanker:

Choice 1: Use ifoedit to eliminate the angle, then process with Vobblanker and shrink. This is the most reliable way, but using ifoedit is a bitch to use/understand.

Choice 2: Let VobBlanker process everything else except the vobs with multiangles (in this case its probubly the main movie) into a folder. Next use shrink in 'reauthor mode' and just shrink out the movie (uncompressed) into the same folder you vobblanked the other materials. Now you can shrink the whole folder to the proper size.

    hope this helps

It's back where you started, in the original DVD files. Move what was processed back into those original files. Or to be absolutely safe, make another copy of the original, and move the processed files into that. That way, if something screws up, you still have the untouched originals. As VobBlanker said, they were skipped. I don't know why you called it a VobBlanker Error. User misunderstanding is more like it.

For the Disney titles, as stated, the only difference in the angles is usually just the credits. You can choose English or perhaps French and Spanish credits, depending on which language you choose in Setup. You can see the angles and ILVU by double-clicking the movie in VobBlanker, and previewing them. They'll look very strange when played.

It's extremely difficult to reencode when ILVU is present. DVD-RB Pro can do it. Otherwise as far as I know, you have to know your way around Scenarist.

Also as stated, your best bet is to strip out the angles you don't want, leaving just one language. And as stated, the best way to do this is with IFOEdit. Here's a guide:

It's pretty easy, actually. It's only going to process the VTS where the movie is, so you'll have to move the other files into it (or it into the other files) when done.

  6. I am not sure if it's this particular DVD, or whether this method would work for all. I have a DVD with multiangle clips that VobBlanker would only process by skipping the main clips. From VobBlanker I know which clips were multiangle and skipped by VobBlanker. I then used VobBlanker to blank the clip that I initially planned. I then copied whatever missing video files that were skipped by VobBlanker because they were multiangle. The end result folder seems to work ok.
