    They only skip?...your lucky, usually when joining with tmpenc you get sync problems also...lol

    The best thing to do is use a better editor, I use vcd cutter and it works great, another tip is when encoding a full movie with tmpenc encode your mpeg cuts seperatly using the source limit setting in advanced settings, you can do them as a batch job, that way you never have sync problems and can encode and burn, also I always use toolame as my audio encoder in tmpenc, much better audio with less noise.

  3. @dkbranson,

    TMPGEnc is a sometimes little picky with mpegs created by other encoders. What you could do is demux your original mpegs, remux them with TMPGEnc and then try joining them again. If TMPGEnc doesn't succeed at demuxing your mpegs, you could try the demuxing tool that comes with Darim DVMPEG, as this is the best demuxer that I'm aware of.

    @sommersby,

    I really don't understand why everybody is complaining about sync problems with TMPGEnc's joining-tool. When cutting/joining mpeg-1 files for VCDs, I have no sync problems at all. This is with more recent versions of TMPGEnc, though, so perhaps you're still using an older version of TMPGEnc.

    VCD-Cutter, on the other hand, has always created corrupt, i.e. non-compliant, mpegs when I tried it.

    Well, I have been using tmpenc for around two years, since ver 1.02, and I always update to the latest version, Actually this problem has become worse in the later versions, could faster computers be the problem, different OS's? could be. All I know is it is a problem when doing alot of cuts and merging. If I do a dvd rip and make one cut I never have a problem. But your right, direct mpeg1 captures from my AIW card are always out of sync when I use tmpenc to edit. Or if I merge and cut anything, for an example, pearl harbor, to fit it on 3 diskc I had to join
    the the 2 encoded files the cut it in 3 parts, tmpenc could not do it without getting out of sycn. Vcdcutter did it no problem and I have never had a non compliant file using it, but I use nero which is much more forgiving, ezcd creator is not, just in case that is what u are using. And I also use vcd easy which always works with files cut and edited by vcdcutter, for $20 it is a great editor, although I still try tmpenc first, then go to vcdcutter if I have a problem.
