  1. ok i downloaded a kvcd template for tmpgenc and it only converts the video and i set it the cbr to fill 400 mb and i set the quality to lowest now it in theory should convert faster on my 800mhz computer right? WRONG!
    it still takes 4 hours to convert it while it would take that long to convert with cq rate control mode what is going on here?

    To be honest your 800MHz computer is quite the dinosaur in this day and age. CBR and CQ rate modes should take roughly the same time, as they are both 1 pass.

    i used to make xvcds on my duron600, ages ago!! & it took 8-12 hrs...

    now ur using kvcd templates & expect it to encode quicker!!!!

    these templates are supposed to make better q vids at lower bitrates.., which can only mean it does a more stronger analysis of the vid no mater what u set the q setting!!!
