I don't get it. I've used the same procedure for smaller projects (ie: dvds with much smaller files such as 10 minute content and 30 min content)... but now I'm looking to wrap up a larger project which involves 3 large AVI files, which I've put into Nero, created the menu (as normal) and then selected to "burn to harddrive" (create image).

Every other time, it would take the 1-2 hours it needed, then at the end, I'd get a popup notifying alls well and would have my Video_TS folder. NOW, it says it will take an estimated 2.5-3 hours... it chugs along right until the end without troubles but when it reaches 100%, no pop up, instead it just shuts itself down (window disappears) and I'm left without a VIDEO_TS folder.

Has anyone seen this before? I'm mean it's a simple process, bring in AVI, create menu, burn to hardrive so that I can use the image and burn to disc. Before it worked, now with larger AVIs, it doesn't. Help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. - Rob

am beginner with Nero( see my other Topic), but I have burnt large full DVD with NERO VE3,no problem...

IS it full version. Try to reinstall the Nero and see.
    It should work!

Since you also use nero I want to ask your opinion:

The only problem with NeroVE3I saw it is that the final DVD-Video is not as sharp as the .avi files and original miniDV footage(SonyPC120).
But again, have not a chance to see it on standalone player and TV.

Also, I can see lines when in motion -even more..! , when viewing the burnt DVD on the PC monitor..!

What do you thing; Can Nero produce a very High DVD -Video quality like TMPGenc DVD author, etc which takes about 30 hrs to encode 18.7Gbt .avi, on 2-way VBR, on PC P3 1Ghz.

NVE3 did the same job for less than 8 hrs.

Do you think NVE3 produces the same quality?

What do you thing og NVE3, etc...?

Thank you for sharing your experience!

    It's called interlacing.
You will not see it on the TV
No DVD can withstand the power of DVDShrink along with AnyDVD!

Do you know if NeroVE3 and other authoring programs will output on DVD-Video disc without of deteorating of resolution , etc..., compared to the input-.avi footage...?.

What is the best FREE DVD authoring program(from the .AVI files, encoding to MPEG-2, to burning DVD), with free MPEG-" encoder included?
Full Program, not a Trial, SE version !???

    Thank you very much !!
