  1. I am using VirtualDub 1.6.10

When I try to compress a "uncompressed Avi" with a multipass xvid I get an error stating "Statsfile not found".

I can however compress using Xvid in one pass mode.

Also I'm looking for some software that allows me to use multiple passes (5 would be nice) on a "uncompressed Avi" to Xvid.

    Thnks,

    Ty Welcome

This may help with the Statsfile problem:http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/xvid_setup.html

    And a link to a XVID site:http://www.xvid.org/

I'm not sure if XVID can do more than two passes.

  3. Hi-

Yes, there's a pic in redwudz's link showing you that you have to do the Twopass-1st pass before doing the Twopass-2nd pass. And after you set it for the first pass, hit that "More" button beside it and scroll to where you want it saved, and give it a name, like "Movie.pass". Don't forget the "pass" extension, or it won't be saved as a pass, and you'll have the same problem.

As redwudz also speculated, no more than 2 passes for XviD. You can run more 2nd passes after the first one, but the pass file doesn't get updated each time (the way that CCE updates the .vaf file after each pass, for example).

Thanks, manono. I notice on the XVID site that one of the requested features is multiple passes for the next 2.0 version.

Not going to happen. XviD doesn't need more than two passes, besides it is already possible anyway, just not with the VfW version.
