I don't know anyone else having this problem before.

What happed is, I connected the Sony Play Station 2 to the network. This was very bad, fucked up the whole network!

I having to upgrade the Linksys firmware to get it working again, and still a confusing problem.

Most everything working good now, but Sometime, I using the Wirless Network. If I turn the computer on, the computer can get IP from the network really fast. If I let computer go on standby, can be 20 minutes when I start before has the IP address. I know having to do with the Sony PS2, I never having this problem before! Sony PS2 is hardest thing to connect with Internets, came with the Network Adapter Module but I can never get it working! Usually, the wired computer not many problem getting the IP address. The Wirless Network signal is Excellent in the room. It should working like it did before the Sony PS2 but I don't know what thing did to the network to screw it over!

If you know what the Sony PS2 does to a network, you can tell me how to fix it? I never plug in the Sony again, there is tape over the network port now!

    Thank you for helping.
    NO smart ass comment please.

Could you elaborate on the network configuration that you are using For example you mentioned that you upgraded the Linksys firmware, but you did not mention what kind of equipment.

Set your workstation's IP address to a static address, a good choice would be 192.168.1.100. I'm guessing you have more than one computer on the network, so give each one a unique address, again I'd recommend starting at .100, then .101, then .102, etc. Keep your rouster as DHCP, but reserve the computer's static addresses in the router confguration. What you're going to end up with is that the Playstation2 will be the only device getting an address automatically.

Also, I remember when I got my PS2 there was a section in the manual how to set up your PS2 for use iver a cable modem and router. It had specific models listed that they know it will work with. Mine was one of the first revisions of the PS2, so I'm sure that list has expanded but it might be outdated. If I remember correctly, you will get issues if you just plug in the PS2 without configuring the NIC in it. Again, that may have changed in later revisions of the console, so I may be wrong.

I think I might have it but can't be sure.

    I unplugged everything and replugged.

I don't want say much about the equipment because, actually, is part of network. Hackers could get in.

It works good tonight but It be some time before I can really tell.
