I had a desktop PC with Windows 2000 Pro (SP4). I installed MusicMatch Plus 7.2 on this PC and it worked fine -- I used it to rip many audio CDs.
My desktop died and I replaced it with a new Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop. It has a DVD/CD burner in it and Windows XP (SP2) for the OS. I installed the same MusicMatch Plus 7.2 software on it and it's having a strange problem.
If I insert a CD and then start MM, it will recognize the CD and I can either play it or Rip it. After I do the one CD, though, if I eject the CD and insert a second one, MM won't recognize there's anything in the drive. If I hit the "refresh" button on the Recorder window, it says "CD-ROM drive is empty." Then if I close MM and re-launch it, it finds the CD in the drive just fine.
This is a minor irritation for me ... but I'd still like to know what's causing it and how to fix it. Any ideas???

Any version of Musicmatch below 9.0 was broken when SP2 is installed.
Either remove SP2 or upgrade Musicmatch Jukebox.
