I have 200 TDK discs and need a writer that will love these kind of discs. I only have the TDK DVD-R not DVD+R.

I bought 50 TDK R+ discs from bestbuy(MADE IN INDIA) they work fine with my NEC 3500 and ILO 04

Don't get hung up on one brand of DVD because you can get 500 of them really cheap somewhere. Disks aren't that expensive anymore (except DL). Especially don't get all obsessed about buying a DVD burner that will work well with whatever brand of DVDs you currently have 200 of lying around. Get a good burner, period. Even if you already have 200 TDKs, if they don't work with your DVD burner, sell them or give them away. Don't suffer through trying to use them if they won't work with an otherwise excellent drive.
For one thing, your 200 DVDs will gone sooner than you think, and the next time the TDK DVD-R disks are available somewhere, they may be manufactured by somebody else, like (shudder) CMC. -
Yeah, I would agree, don't worry about the disks, worry about the burner. IF the disks stink, you'll blow through those pretty fast making cooaster after coaster, quickly learning that you need better media.
And I've found that you need to worry more about if your standalone DVD player will play them than if your burner will burn them. -

But more importantly DONT SKIMP ON YOUR BURNER.
If your current media doesnt work well in your newburner, sell it, use it or bin it.
Media (especially the cheap stuff) is so cheap now, most people arent bothered about making lots of coasters from a spindle. they just dont buy them same brand again. -

It sounds like you posted the model # off the label or something, that has nothing to do with the "media code" previous posts asked about.. My suggestion - use one of the tools mentioned before, pop in a disc (assuming you have a drive already) and scan the media code.. I assume they are 8x discs..And going by the media db here, you most likey have either MCC (Mitsubishi), or TYG/TTG/TTH (Taiyo Yuden)..Both VERY good discs.
As far as the original question - my burner preferences would be as follows:
Pioneer (had DVR106, now a DVR109) <- cheap OEM drives need reflash usually to disable the riplock, maybe go for the higher XL (?) line of drives if you don't feel like invalidating a warranty
NEC (highly regarded, cheap)
LiteOn ("," - my LiteOn cd burner has been a workhorse)
Benq (don't know much about these, afaik good drives, but somewhat crappy out of the box until they release new(er) firmwares for them)
Plextor (good drives, but IMO overpriced)
..And many 3rd party rebrands (sony, memorex, etc) of the others, ie: Pio/LiteOn to name a few..Not really worth getting, unless you can find them cheap (ie: MIR/Instant rebate "deals" at your local WorstBuy).
[edit] too slow - in regards to last post - via the media db, could also be TYG02 or TTH01's.. -

And people tend to forget than when 4X CD-Rs came out, people were paying $10.00/each -- and that was a good deal! And killer deals for 4X DVD-Rs used to be $5.00/each. Now, we have 16X DVD+Rs for ~$0.40/each on an routine basis.
I mean -- sure -- enjoy a deal when it comes around, but also enjoy the fact that even when there isn't some killer deal going on at the moment, you can go out and pay "full price" and be doing very, very well also. -
i bought these too
work great in my liteon 1653 and work decent in my btc 1016 drive
i have 2 other 8x burners that i havent tried them in yet as i dont use those burners too much anymore -

Don't forget your target device might not play the discs regardless of what burner you use - writing to a disc is only half the story !
