    I have many old vcr tapes that I want to put on dvd for archival purposes, however, there is a block in the vcr tape that prohibits the copy. I have a vcr hooked up to my dvd recorder.

    Any help to remove the block?

    Are these commercial VHS tapes ? If so, it's probably macrovision. You need a device inbetween to remove it.
