For some reason, everytime I convert an avi file to svcd/dvd, the video will always be a few seconds shorter than the audio so they won't sync properly. I tried over and over again with 2 different videos, but the problem still occurs. Is there anyway to fix this?

have you tried convert the audio to wav? tmpgenc has problem with mp3 vbr, ac3 and some audio formats.
