  1. I have VOBs I need to convert so I can author and Burn to a DVD.
However, i don't have the IFO files.

I've used Magix Movie edit pro, DVD2AVI, Virtualdubmod, DVDshrink....
all with no success. They either produce screwed up video/audio or out of synch video/audio.

Tmpg plus seems it will produce an m2v/wav, but where do I go from
there? Plus each VOB is approx. 18min and it was taking over an
hour to process! So I aborted.

I just want to convert to an AVI or MPEG2 (DVD)

P.S. does converting to 23.97 / 29.97 affect the speed of the video?
If so, which slows it down, which speeds it up?

    Thanks

  2. Take the VOB files and make them a DVD with Tmpg DVD Author. You'll have to choose "add video files" which will make the program look for mpgs, avi, etc. Just use the drop-down menu in the search box to "all files" and choose the VOBS.

VideoRedo accepts VOB files and converts them to mpeg-2.
There is also a tool to join mpegs.
    Download the time limited trial.

    This might help:

Put each VOB in its own folder, then this will create the IFOs and stuff for you as if each VOB was a DVD by itself. You can then import each one into TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day fully functional free trial) using the Add DVD Video button and author away.
    If in doubt, Google it.
