Does anyone know if there are any USB to S-Video/Composite video OUTPUT adapters/cables out there?

My new laptop is pretty basic and just has USB2 and a VGA ports on it. I'd like to watch DVD's or other video files in my PC on my regular TV set.
My old laptop had a built-in S-video out jack on it, so it was not an issue.

I know there are many S-Video to USB INPUT adapters all over the place, but I need something that goes the other direction - just outputs S-video via the USB port.

I have seen USB2 to VGA adapters out there that allow you to run a second monitor without buying a new video card, so I figured it might be possible. My understanding is also that some higher-end hardware-assisted capture devices (eg. ADS USB Instant DVD 2.0 has a TV preview option I think means its bidirectional and lets you output your edited video file to a TV to view) can do this, but its way more than I need.

Just wondering if a simpler option exists and I just missed it in my search.

  2. Here is something that may be suitable. It converts your VGA output to composite video and S-Video output. It draws power from your USB.

The eazy way is with VGA to S/Video or RCA Adapter you need check your Video Card manual or manufacturer to make sure that your VGA card has TV-Out function capability through the VGA connector to ensure that cable this will work for you.
