  1. is there a way to create separate menus on a dvd using nero instead of just having thumbnails?

    Nero is a good burning program, but its authoring capabilities often leave a lot to be desired IMO. For better menus from a limited yet reasonably customisable set of standard templates, you could try TMPGEnc DVD Author (30 day fully functional free trial), or if you really want to get your hands dirty then DVD-lab and DVD-lab Pro might be worth a try. It should be mentioned though that the learning curve gets much steeper as the programs get more powerful.

    That is one thing I truely disliked about Nero's dvd authoring. You are forced to use thumbnails. No way to turn them off. Also, it would not accept MPEG2 files for some reason.
    I use TMPGenc Express 3.0 and TMPGenc DVD Author 1.6 now, and only use Nero for burning.
