    I have tried to use the preset to convert but am left with jerky and then freezing video. The audio keeps playing while the video is frozen. Should I use different settings or is my avi just bad? I am trying to create VIDEO_TS to drag to Toast. OSX 10.3.8 Thanks

    Hmmm. If I hit preview while in ffmpegx, Mplayer plays the file fine. DVD player on the Mac doesn't like the VIDEO_TS though.

    Please post your encoding settings (open the file in ffmpegX and notice what appears in the source 'lcd screen' of the summary tab).

    Try to disable "Normalize audio" and encode again. Then use the Preview button to see if the encoded movie is OK.
