im using pinacle studio 8 to capture some tv shows i taped on vhs and while capturing im getting alot of noise (static) from the audio, lines through the picture and when i watch the mpeg back of what i captured its off sync (the video is fine but the audio lags) now does it matter if its like this and will it work fine once i author it and burn it to disc? any suggestions?
i selected custom settings and mpeg at 720x480

You are dropping video frames while capping. Buy a Time Base Corrector. VHS tapes are always a problem to cap.
