I do have one but there are no openings one is connected to the front port and the other to the advc50. Can I just connect to the front port on the case even if it is not connected directly to the advc50? I still can't get the pic to post. How did you do that?

I'd need to see a picture of what you are talking about.

Just add this line with your file name (with start and end brackets)

    "img]ieee1394.jpg[/img"

then browse to the file with the browse button at the bottom, then submit.

If what you mean is can you connect a camcorder to your PC IEEE-1394 port the answer is yes

Ok, because I have the port on the card connected to the ieee then it works with the other port also. Not only does it put out it takes in. Is that right?

That looks good for the internal connection.

IEEE-1394 is bidirectional but the ADVC 50 is one way. Analog to computer.

The other port will work bidirectionally with the camcorder.

Added: If I understand you have the ADVC50 connected internally with that cable. You also have a computer IEEE-1394 port on the front of the computer and you have the IEEE-1394 port on front plate of the ADVC-50. Is that right?

I have the epox 9NPA+ Ultra motherboard. It has two internal ieee connection 10pins (actually 9). I will have the advc50 connected to one internal and the other internal will be the front of the case. Then the 4pin is on the front of the bay for the advc50.

I am waiting for the special cable. I am also waiting for a couple little last minute things before all is totally finished. Why? Shouldn't it work??

Just hook up a IEEE-1394 cable to the front connector and start using it.

I have to have the special cable to hook up to the ieee port inside of the 50. Or do you mean on the computer case?
