I have an AVI file (Xvid/AC3), and when I demux the video and audio streams I get a problem.
The first few seconds of the AVI is an "encoded by...blah, blah" message that appears before the movie, and when the movie starts after the message, the audio starts as well - so far, so good - audio and video in sync.
But when I use VirtualDubMod to demux the AC3 audio file and use BeSweet to convert it to an mp2 for use in DVDLab Pro, there is no silence at the start of the audio as there is in the original AVI - so after I demux the video stream in VirtualDubMod and convert to an mv2 file in TMPGenc, I've got two ES files that will be out of sync when used in DVDLab Pro.
Also - loading the demuxed AC3 directly into DVDLab Pro gives an error.
In a nutshell - after demuxing, the video stream still has the "encoded by" bit before the movie, but the audio stream doesn't.
Of course I can use "source range" in TMPGenc to cut the "encoded by" section from the beginning of the video file, but it's a hit and miss affair - I don't want to go through all of the converting to end up with a movie that's only slightly out of sync instead of a lot.
Does anyone have any ideas on a better way to get the streams in sync with great precision? Remember that my end product needs to be mv2 and mp2 ES files.
