  1. Hi,
I followed the instructions for burning the vcd perfectly. The file worked quite fine. My DVD player does play VCDs. Yet, my DVD player claims I have "no disc" when I try to play it.
Can somebody tell me the possible reason(s)?
    Thanks

  2. Your DVD player may not be able to read your CDR media.

Try burning one on CDRW, and check the DVD Players list on the menu on the left pane of this website to see what media your player is compatable with.

  3. Thank you very much, lusid. That did help. CD-RW is what I was supposed to be using. This made some progress. Unfortunately, not enough. The only difference is that now it takes about 4 minutes of trying to load before telling me I have "no disc". Perhaps I should try a higher quality CD-RW?

  4. Many DVD players cannot play CDRW discs either. It's possible yours is one.

You didn't mention what model you've got, but you can look it up in the DVD Player Compatibility list by clicking the "DVD Players" link on the left side of the web page.

Some players are designed to be compatible with CDR and CDRW discs. Other players may work with one brand of CDRW just by chance. CDRW media quality isn't quite as important as its formulation. For example, I've known people who could use CDRW discs with a brownish recording surface, but not the gray ones.

Again, look in the compatibility list. If someone's had success with your model, they might have reported it there.

    Good Luck!
