  1. I've just put together my first build using this mobo.

Every hardwarewise is going fine so far as I can tell. However I cannot get the onboard LAN to connect to the internet for anything. I've installed three different versions of the nForce drivers with no luck. The connection is there and active but only sending. I get no packets coming in. Is there something I'm missing here? I've had this happed several times in the past on intel LANs as well. Then suddenly they magically start working. Any help is appreciated.

BTW, I'm runnin a CAT5e from the router and I've also tried it straight from the cable modem with no luck.

make sure you disable the onboard hardware firewall completly in bios .... and dont even install the drivers for the firewall in windows ever or your screwed ....

that was my problem on two nforce chip set boards with the same problem as you ...
sometimes it seems that LAN just doesnt seem to work correctly anyway .. I picked up that advice from the amd64 forum ...

  3. It's a Phoenix Award Bios. Any idea how to diable onboard firewall? I don't recall seeing the option for it in the bios. You wouldn't happen to know what it's listed under do you?

I installed the latest nForce drivers from nVidia this moring but haven't had time to test the connection again. I did have the firewall installed accidentally at one point but I was having issues even before that. I've made sure it's completely gone now.

  5. I just need it short term. It's got a wireless card in it for when it goes to my girlfriends house. I just wanted to hardwire it into my router to do all the updates before I send it off. I might have to wait till I get to her place to do the updates.

  6. Well I finally got it working. Uninstalled all nVidia drivers and installed the latest ones from their site. Rebooted and it's fine now. Go figure. Thanks for the help though
