Hi
When converting a avi file to an mpg-2 for a DVD (in ntsc)
using TMPGEnc, what should i use for the audio:
CBR Linear PCM Audio
CBR MPEG-1 Layer II Audio (MP2)
VBR Linear PCM Audio
VBR MPEG-1 Layer II Audio (MP2)
which one is the standard for a DVD and will be more problem free ..
Thanx

For a NTSC DVD the disk must have either AC3 or LPCM. I don't believe that MPEG-1 Layer II audio is allowed for NTSC. As far as the video the choice between VBR and CBR is based on the total length of your video. Many people will say that if the calculated average bitrate is above a certain amount you might as well use CBR because it is a faster encode. I'm not sure what that bitrate is. I'm sure someone else will let you know.

The software only offer me these 4 choices
so i guest the best should be
CBR Linear PCM Audio ? -
You are telling me that it is smaller for the same quality
so its one more reason for using LPCM -
