I got an LG DL writer and made my first backup to test my main DVD player, its a Panasonic DMR E50 Recorder. A good machine, good picture and sound etc but it doesnt like +r disks or RW either. I burned a backup of a disk I own to try if it plays DL disks and it doesnt - dunno if its the dl or +r that it doesnt like tho. Someone said something about book-type and that should play ok - apparently when burning to +r the lg auto sets to book type. The backup disk plays in my Yamada Divx player no problems ( a bit of toast would play on that tho, it plays everything) but the Panasonic says disk error or something, it wont play anyway.
Any suggestions? Am I burning wrong? Im using Traxdata and burning at 2X, using dvddecrypter iso r then w.

Panasonic DVD recorders are not great players. This issue has been addressed at least a dozen times in the past two weeks here. Do a forum search.

    Steve,
I too have a fussy settop player that just does not like the +R media. And since DL is +R, I do have a problem. However, I did solve my dilemma by using the burning engine within DVDDecrypter.
Not being at my home computer system, I cannot directly list the menu selections involved but with a bit of searching you can find the menu that lets you change the book type for +R Dl to DVD-ROM. You will need to know your specific burner type in order to complete the change.
Once this has been done, then all you need to do is burn your DVD. Pop it into the player, sit back and watch.
I was very surprised at how simple the process was and more amazingly was that I got the process to work.

Give it a go and see what happens.
