Nero Burning VCD messed up!please help!

Hey all I opened nero burner put my .avi movie into nero burner and it encoded it and then burnt it all at same time and will not play on my SAMSUNG DVD player somethings wrong I know I had to do something wrong please help will be very grateful.

When I right click on the file it gives me this information
Audio Format: MPEG Layer-3,96 kBit/s, 48,000Hz, Stereo
Video Format: 352x160, 87027 Frames, 20.000 Frames/Sec, 58KB/Sec, Unknown Format so I just took the file and loaded it up in TMPGEnc and I went to Browse to find my video Source and its on my desktop so I found it and tryed to open it up in TMPGEnc and it says this File"C:\WINDOWS\Desktop\harry potter.avi" can not open, or unsupported. please help me I have gave all info that anyone could need to get me started here thanx alot

what you have is a DivX file. in order to do anything with it you will need to install the divx codecs. go to the tools section of this page and get BOTH divx 3.11 and divx 4. install divx 4 first then install divx 3.11 second. if the divx 4 install asks you if you would like it to decode 3.11 content say NO.

another thing for you to check is to look at the dvd players section of this site and make sure you are using the correct type of media for your player. some samsung players only play cdrw and some only play cdr.

finally i would like to say that you should become familiar with windows explorer and how to use folders to keep things organized. the desktop is not really a good place to store files. think of your computer like a file cabinet and windows explorer will seem very logical.
