  1. First my video card went bad, then my dvd burner went bad, then my replacement burner went bad too. then my hard drives(2) started getting currupted data.

So i said to my self how the heck could all these things be dieing? The answer? In my opinion its the HEAT!!! I have a nice computer case its got 1 fan at the top 2 blowing over the hard drives and 2 on the back and one on the front I NEVER thought heat was a problem but i was wrong. i checked the heat in my case and it was hovering around 45c to 50c.

Point being if you want your hardware/computer to last u a long time you need to invest in lots and lots of cooling. My next upgrade is going to be a drive bay fan setup put in the very top of my computer to let all that hot rising air out. With all these heat waves in the summer it has to be causeing people lots of problems and they dont even realize it.

im looking at the posts on this forum and theres like 3 or 4 current topics on harddrives alone going bad!!

Just thought i would share this info/that i had overlooked for quite some time, to help save others many many problems. fans fans fans fans fans

I'm gonna 'customize' and put a 120mm fan in the top of my case, pointing straight up, for exhausting.

  3. yeah thats a good place to put one, i was going to suggest u put 2 fans but then i reread and seen your talkin about big burtha 120mm. which should do you right. the big fans can be noisey so u might need a fan controller to slow it down a bit. but i wouldn't buy that untill u know for sure u need it, execpt they do have probs to take temps for u which could be nice to see before and after installation of your fan.

anyways gl and have fun with the project, check out www.xoxide.com

i think they have some nice bling bling fan grills.
