I've backup at least 10-15 movies with DVD shrink and I have no problem. I just tried to backup my XXX State of the Union DVD and when it's analysing it I get an error that reads:

DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue.
    Failed to read file "E:/"
    Data Error (Cyclic redundancy Check).

What does this mean and can I fix it somehow?

    Thanx,

Try a quick SEARCH... of the forum. This is usually a dirty or damaged disk. So try ripping with FabDVD, DDecryptor, IsoBuster or your personal favourite ripping software (with the options set to ignore all errors) after carefully cleaning the disk. Then load this into DVD Shrink.

Try ripping to your hard disk first with DVDFAB Decrypter then use DVDshrink (file mode). DVDShrink is a little outdated for newer titles protections.

I had no problems ripping XXX STATE OF THE UNION with the last version of DVD DECRYPTER. Your disc maybe dirty or scratched. Try ripping the disc in another dvdrom or dvd burner or another pc. Rip in FILE MODE with DECRYPTER then use DVD SHRINK.

I used DVDFAB and that worked perfectly.
