  1. I recently downgraded from Xp to ME to allow an old K62 500 to keep up a little easier. It plays most files fine but a few AVI's seem to have a progressive slowing of the video compared to the audio (video and audio go out of sync). I've uninstalled all codec packs and just started with FFDSHOW 10/2004 and xvid 1.03. This AVI plays fine on other computers.

    Any suggestions?

    bframes, gmc, etc. require more CPU overhead for decoding, so perhaps your CPU is just too slow?

    Try mplayer since it doesn't rely on installed filters and it is about as low overhead a player as you are going to get.
