  1. Hi!

I have demuxed a VOB file with Vobrator, then reencoded the two reulting files with Tmpgenc into an Mpeg file.

I tried to import it into Premiere, but it froze. (I read somewhere that Premiere Pro doesnt like Mpegs)
I converted it with Virtualdub into AVI, but My PC doesnt seem to like AVI´s, made by Virtualdub (i tried all codecs).

Is there an alternative to Virtualdub? or does anyone have an idea, about importing the Mpeg into Premiere, or converting it to another format, compatible with Premiere...

    Thanks!

Virtual Dub would have been my first choice. As a 2nd choice, you might try DVD2AVI, available from the "Tools" section on the left of this page. Note: I've never tried DVD2AVI, so I don't know if it will work for you or not.

Try VirtualdubMod - it can read vobs - no need to demux. Use the XviD or DivX codec. If your system is OK, it should work.

What codec are you using when you Save to AVI in virtualdub ? The Panasonic DV Codec would be the one I'd use.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  6. I´ve tried that one too, but I still get a freeze. I dunno why, but Premiere freezes (the import progression bar just halts) with any AVI I get from VirtualDubMod. If i playback them with Win Media Player, the sound mutes after approx. 1 sec (@Baldrick: sorry for repeating myself, I know, I have mentionned that in other threads, but I am desperate ). It´s really bizzarre, therefore I look for an alternative to VirtualDub. I tried DVD2AVI. It works, but I only get an AVI with no sound at all.
