  1. I need suggestions on what everyone thinks is the best player for playing dual layer discs. I did do a search and every player that came up for dual layer compatability is either only sold over seas or no longer made so far only one i see thats available that when i did my search was the pioneer dv 270,,, anyone know of any better players or any newer players that are very good at playing back verbatim dual layer discs?

i've got 3 pioneer dv-270's and they all work great. it's my favorite dvd player.. especially considering the price of $50.. you cant beat this player with a stick.. the dv-271 & dv-275 are the same players, just different model #'s for different retail outlets.

i've burned verbatim double layer dvd+r's and they all playback perfectly in my pioneer dv-270's
