  1. Does anyone know where I can get a .lib or .dll containing ffmpeg, or specifically libavcodec?

Been trying to compile the source code in VC6, but of course it doesn't compile . Sure I'll get there eventually, but then I can't be sure if it's all going to work.

Download the latest Daily Source or better the latest official released Source of ffmpeg. Do look in the ffmpeg documentation how a win32 build will be compiled as you should use for compiling MinGW32 or CygWin. The resulted files are avcodec.dll and avformat.dll.

Umm, the question was "where I can get a .lib or .dll..." and you recommend downloading source code?

    source code???

    not equal .dll!!!

DEmberton was clearly asking for a binary. Please try to read the posts before responding. (Referring the member to the documentation does not count.)
