OK, I stand (slightly) corrected. Is it possible to try a different DVD drive in a PC ? I've seen certain DVD-ROMs be very picky about what burnt media they read. Bottom line is that if it plays at all in any given PC or settop, then there's more than likely nothing wrong with the method - it's just the media, or the playback hardware.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  3. "Daemon Tools is a virtual CD/DVD-ROM emulator. It is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today. Mount BIN/CUE, ISO, NRG, IMG... iso files as a virtual CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive."

If this program emulates the protection that was on the original disk from which the iso is created, then it should play back like the original. Does that not just prove that PowerDVD can play copy protected disks including emulations of a copy protected disk mounted from a ripped iso?

Im not really following you trhouse

daemon tools emulates copy protection ?

the ISO on the harddrive shouldnt have any of the copy protection in it.

i thought ripping to your harddrive meant copy and removing the copy protection.

It's the sorce, For some reason the source dvd plays fine, but when copied or ripped it copies some Errors. I am testing this with other DVDs at the moment, but thank you all for you help.

  6. Sifaga,

"It is able to emulate nearly all known copy protections on the market today."

I have never used this program but it says the above in its description. I guessed it somehow determines the original copy protection of the ripped iso and emulates it. In your experience, does it emulate copy protection or is it an option?
