  3. I believe if you place it on a stack of papers, it will hold those papers in place, even if a slight breeze trys to blow the papers away.

I look forward to receiving my copy of TMPGEnc that you will send me in the email.

DaMovieMastarz, you may want to track down a copy of the Russian VCD player software. This software enables the DC to TRULY play VideoCDs... not like GypPlay (which requires that that GypPlay software be on the disc itself).

The Russian player is a separate boot disc... then you're prompted to insert a VideoCD.

Keep in mind that this program is EXTREMELY hard to find.

Sorry dumwaldo, but that is NOT what I was talking about. I specifically mentioned a piece of software... not a hardware add-on.

And yes, there are still some things that are difficult to find on the internet. Like that VCD player software.

  9. That vcd player software for the dc sucks big time!!!! It jitters around the place, skips everywhere, screws up audio. I wouldnt bother. I would stick to Gypplay. There is heaps o shit you can do on ya dc, watch flicks, listen to mp3's, play sega master system, sega mega drive, genesis, game boy, nintendo, super nintendo and best of all, you can play dreamcast games!!

  10. i know vcd's on dreamcast suck bigtime but i still want to learn how to do it. I've got this Sega Dream Cast Movie Maker and when i begin to encode i get the error Cannot Find Stream or something like that. the avi is a capture with the Huffyuv codec. and i am sure i need more programs to make a DC VCD. i have no idea where to begin, i know i need GYPLAY for something that i don't know, and i'm not sure if i can use Nero to burn with. Can anyone who can make DC VCD'S give me a hand with it??????

if you are talking about the utopia boot cd, it is also quite easy to find by just using a search engine and searching for dreamcast utopia boot cd

if you are talking about the DC VCD Player cd (i think it was made by xing) the reason you cant find it is because it truly sucked. play and stop is a bit limited, lacking features like search and pause insured its own failure.

so far you have made 2 posts and failed to mention the name of what it is. i can only assume you are not saying what it is because like i said it is easy to find or because your using the old laughable boot disc that doesnt support anything but play and stop.

i will admit that at times my posts will resonate so much sarcasm that even i myself have a hard time reading them later but one thing i always try to do is share some knowledge inside that sarcasm. you however have made 2 posts that seem to serv no point other than to attempt to make yourself feel superior to others. perhaps in your next post you might want to try to add something helpfull to others like for instance the name of this "Russian VCD player software". if you dont want to say the name of the software what was the point of your post?

dumwaldo, the reason I didn't mention the name of the program, is because I don't know what it is. I don't own a DC. I had been doing research for my brother (who does own one). I found GypPlay, burned a few test CDs for him to try. They worked well. It was at that time that he had borrowed a CD from a friend that could truly play VideoCDs.

The only thing that I know about this CD is that it was Russian in origin and that it was yanked off the 'net immediately after it was available because of some copyright issues.

In either event, your followup to mine, mentioned a hardware add-on, rather than simply provide the software solutions that you knew about (...which would've been more helpful to everyone involved.)

As for why I posted, I'm here to help out where I can, and to learn a little along the way. I was the first to post a serious suggestion for the DC (well, I guess paperweight could be considered a serious use. )

If you've seen any of my other posts in these fora, you know that I'm not one for posting just to see myself in print.
