  1. Hey, I was wondering if anyone here could help me. I have a 420i that supposedly will allow me to copy discs. I was using it today to attempt to copy a Verbatim DVD-R. The data from the disc pulled off okay (I was using Sonic Record Now software), but when the program prompted me to put a blank disc in the drive, it told me that the disc was incompatible with the source disc. I tried to change the compatability settings within the HP program, but can't figure out if the settings on that were right or not. Help, anyone?

You are in the wrong forum.

Porbably you were copying a dual layer disk into a single layer DVD media.

You will need a one of the DVD Rip tools (try DVD Shrink) and a burning aplication like Nero Burning ROM.

First check the Guides. If you still need more help post a detailed question in DVD to DVDR forum.

You could also hack your drive so it will support dual layer media. If you what to do it get this firmware: http://www.maddogmultimedia.com/drivers/OpticalDrives/8XDVD9_FW2F7.exe

    Now get NecFlash Win32 GUI v1.18: http://binflash.cdfreaks.com/download/1/5

Note: Before you flash check this page for details: http://binflash.cdfreaks.com
