  1. What do I use to get the best sound quality possible when I am converting to an mpeg?

  2. Use TMPGEnc. Remember, if the sound quality sucks before converting, it will suck after. TMPGEnc. will maximize the sound quality of the original, but it will NOT turn junk into something good. Good Luck

  3. Depends... TMPGEnc's frequency conversion is not too good - you're much better off using SSRC (which can be used as an external program by TMPGEnc) or using CoolEdit or one of the other sound editors to convert from like 48KHz to 44.1KHz.

Many people prefer the sound of the TooLame encoder (which can also be used as an external program by TMPGEnc). I prefer it myself - TMPGEnc adds some swooshiness to the sound.
