  1. What's this?? ?

I have four perfect official VCD's with cartoons. Because the actual cartoons could easily fit on one VCD, I copied the dat-files to hdd, and burnt to VCD.
But when I watched it, little errors had crept in. Distortion and little pieces missing.
How is this possible? Is it Nero?

I also tried making a VCD in data-CD mode, but that simply didn't play.

Anyone got a clue for me?

  2. I think you have to extact the film to MPEG from the VCD using something like isobuster.

Then burn the MPEG to VCD as Nero will convert the MPEG back into DAT files again.

    Hope that this is helpful.

Use the disc copy option in Nero. That will make a copy of your CD whether it's VCD, SVCD, data disc, or music disc.

    EDIT

I just reread your msg. You want to burn one VCD from your original four VCD's. Nero's Disc Copy won't do what you want.

  4. With Isobuster I'd have to convert the files to mpg en then nero would put them back to avi again.

There's no manual creating of a VCD?

Extract your 4 VCD mpg. (you've obviously already done this with IsoBuster...)
    Author as VCD with VCDEasy.

That way, they will have exactly the same quality as the originals, as VCDEasy doesn't reencode, which Nero might do.

Yep, extract the MPEGs out of the dat files properly, using ISOBuster or VCDGear. Then author using either VCDGear, or Nero, making usre you turn off the "create standard compliant VCD" option in Nero. This should stop it from re-encoding.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  7. Perhaps turning off that option will do the trick with the dat-files? No extracting necessary?

No. You should ALWAYS do the extraction properly.
    If in doubt, Google it.

  9. But in this case, it's already the right type of file, isn't it?

  10. Oh, that "create standard compliant DVD" button does not seem to help. It still converts the files unnecessary.
