I gave my old nu-tec 2020 away and bought a new pinoeer DVD player and to my disgust it wont even play mpeg disc's.

is there a hack or anything to allow this.

  2. No. But the only thing that a DVD player is guaranteed to play is pressed (store bought) DVDs. These days, most will play various recordable ones, rewriteable ones, various audio files (mp3, wma, etc), but you need to verify before you buy. My Sony doesn't play mpeg discs either, but I didn't expect it to.

It seems that the cheapo Chinese players often play more non-standard stuff. For as long as they work, anyway.

There is a link in the navigation bar on the left to "DVD Players" that gives SOME of this info, but it's gathered piecemeal by forum users, so it's not perfect.

Please tell me you are joking !?!?!?!

You are "disgusted" with a DVD player that will NOT play MPEG files burned on a CD/DVD without proper authoring?

You are insane and stupid and dumb and a real pain-in-the-ass.

    Stop being a jack ass.
