  1. I have a slight problem with DVD Lab pro. I create DVDs with widescreen motion menus and use an external subpicture, which works great when displayed as widescreen, but for Pan-Scan or LBX modes, DVD Lab seems to create its own subpictures for those modes from my original, and it's not as precise as I would like, which means the buttons look a little bit off in these modes.

Does anyone know if there is a way to create my own subpictures for these other modes? When the DVD compiles, it creates two temporary BMPs for PS and LBX, which are automatically deleted. I copied them during the compile, and I can see exactly what has gone wrong, but since they are part of the automated process, there doesn't seem to be anything I can do to correct the problem.

    Any ideas?

I don't have an answer for you, other than to say that Oscar (DVD Lab's author) recommends menus not be in widescreen format. Perhaps this is why.

  3. The answer at this point is there is nothing you can do. This actually has been discussed over at mmbforums.com and the conclusion seemed to be that for now the sub quality picture is fairly poor when doing widescreen menus set to display in pan/scan mode. (and also a bit lacking in any menu mode)

But like guns1inger said, asking over at the mmbforums might get you better answers.

  4. That's very disappointing, as I find this to be a must-have feature. A shame, because the software is so impressive in most other areas. Hopefully it's something that will addressed in future releases.

Just out of curiosity, what resolution are your subpicture files ?
