Ok to help the reader understand my problem this is what I did trying to create still menu for my SVCD....
I made 2 BMP files with paintshop pro 7 (1st was the start menu and 2nd the chapter selection menu...) Then opened TMPGEnc and loaded SVCD Template, as video source on of the BMP created and as audio sourve used a 5sec wav silent file as suggested in Martini's VCD guide (http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/r/d/rdm186/guide1/), this produce a new MPG file and according to the guide mentioned went into TSCV menu tab and added both recently created MPG menu files...
Now here's the problem when I add them a confimation screen comes up with the msg "Motion menu added" instead of the "Still menu added" that is supposed to appear...I halted there and went to read more.
Afterwards found that there's another way of creating the menu MPGs using the tools in TSCV menugen tab, I located the BMPs called TMPGEnc and got a new MPV file but when I followed the next step to get a valid still it shows unable to opened the MPV by the mplex patcher, it shows this error msg in the log
" Starting Multiplexing process...
INFO: mplex version 2.0.2 ($Date: 2001/09/30 17:13:23 $)
INFO: File C:\Documents and Settings\TavusLokus.BADBOYS-1\Desktop\menu.mpv looks like an MPEG-1/2 Video stream.
**ERROR: Unable to open file for reading.
Multiplexing finished "
I couldn't find more help in posts so I made my own, any thoughs on what's wrong with this??? Could anyone able to do a functional menu help me??
PS-> Could someone check the guide for accuracy please?
PS2-> Anyhow I followed and used the "motion menus" to make the bin/cue file and burn process. this is what happened before that...
*On the Preview screen of TSCV program the 1st menu would run fine accepting inputs and all but the 2nd menu couldn't accurately find the chapters on the location (frames) of the movie I selected.
and after I had the recently created SVCD...
*On the DVD player the 1st menu wouldn't show unless I press the "menu" key on the remote (I thought this menu would show up auto.); after it showed on screen it wouldn't let me choose anything, would play for about 2 sec then passed onto the 2nd menu (chapter selection one), likewise no inputs allowed and couple secs later the movie started. At the end I had 2 non-functional menus + loss of time.

I don't think TSCV makes true mpeg stills (required for still menus) and in any case, the quality isn't that good.
For still menus, follow the guide by "mikk" from this page: http://www.geocities.com/medinotes/vcd/mpeg_still_images.html

I agree with vitualis, TSCV doesn't create a very useful menu. Fm your PS2 (not playstaion 2
) I think it is something to do with XML generate by TSCV.
you can check in "Selection menu"
- loop jump-timing set to "immediate" or "delay" should be immediate.
- <wait> should be 60 sec. (before goto next track) or -1 (infinite)
PS: It's not loss of time, it just you play someting to learn something new.
