I'm going to venture into the world of dual layer disks... Just for a few that are really important to me, so I'd like to retain all the data and quality.
I'm not sure where to start. Can I just rip with DVD Decryptor then burn with Nero? I can tell that Nero supports this. I'm just not sure how the break from one layer to the other works. Anything special I need to do?
Thanks.

Hi,
All you need to do is rip with dvd decrypter in iso mode then burn in iso mode with decrypter. The last version released will work with dual layer burners.

Save yourself the headache, just use DVDDecrypter, ISO Read -> ISO Write. And leave DVDDecrypter at defaults. I have had no problems doing it that way, and so have many other folks. If you DO have a problem, it'll most likely be media, so use Verbatims, MKM 001.
Good luck.

I have used DVD Fab Decrypter and Nero to successfully copy to DVD +R DL disks.

Okay, I'm about to try this, but I'm a little confused. ISO Read -> ISO Write means rip from DVD Decrypter using Mode = ISO/Read? Then in Nero use ISO/Write?Originally Posted by fritzi93

This is the same as doing it for dvd-5's except ur dealing with more data, rip it somehow (doesn't matter which program as long as it leaves the original files intact and doesn't have read errors) , LEAVE IT UNCHANGED and burn back to a dl disc. Simple.

Dvd decrypter to iso read the disk. Then iso write with decrypter,by selecting the .mds file decrypter made during the read phase.
decrytpter does the read, creates 2 files, one being the .mds that you select to burn.bmiller,ont.canada -
I get 'em at Staples, but IIRC there have been threads on the price and availability of Verbatims, both here and at www.cdfreaks.com. The MKM 001s are generally regarded as most reliable (as of now).Originally Posted by Drooling Dog
It's the layer break that can cause grief, so best to do a straight copy, layer break and all (been threads on that too, so try searching).
If memory serves, Shocker Milwaukee has found that removing PUOs has no ill effects on the layer break. But other than that, you'd be well-advised to stick with defaults. Good luck.
Pull! Bang! Darn!
