    whats up?

for the past week ive been d/l'ling practically all the software out there on the net (be it free.....or not ) and i still havent made that one, i repeat ONE stupid SVCD!!!
first i try to capture my movie from my cam. took me a while before i figured out which compressor to use, which one not to use, which one gives good/bad quality, etc. then i had to re-encode it because a lot sites reckon that some encoders are better. so that took me a while just to get the stupid file on my comp.! then i use nero to make SVCD. its starts givin me sh*t about wrong compatibility. so i got the stupid encoder for nero and re encoded it the way nero wants it. it got burned. but neither my comp nor my dvd-player (which supports anything from vcd's to mp3's) played it. i've been fooling around with ALL the settings of ALL the programs i could find and it still doesnt work.
PLEASE HELP!!! I NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHICH SOFTWARE TO USE TO GET THE STUPID THING TO WORK! HELP ME IM DIEING HERE!

    thanx for any help.

  2. Before you do anything else, why don't you try burning one of the SVCD sample disc images on the net and see if that works on your player...

If you don't need fancy menus and/or next/prev chapter skip, why don't you use Ulead MovieFactory. When you are used to it, you can make decent SVCDs with it.Try a Bitrate at 1700KBits/sec and you'll get no macroblocks and still 1 hour on one 80Min CD.
