I have a pioneer A05.I would just like to know what the writing speed for a DVD-R is? I cannot find any dvd-rs with a x2 burning speed. And someone told me that if my writing speed exceeds x2, it will destroy your player. Is that proven?
I hope someone can help me

It's x1, x2 or x4 for DVD-R, should take approx 15 mins to do a full disc at x4. I had one and have wrote many, many discs at x4 and x2 and never had a problem.

The top writing speed of the A05 is 4X
When 4X discs first became available, they came with a warning about using them with older 2X writers. The A05 had no such issue.
I have burned many brands and many speeds (up to 16X) of media with my A05, and it has always performed flawlessly burning up to 4X whenever possible. -
Thanks a lot guys.Havent been burning that much because all the dvd-r's that I have seen are 4x and above. And what that guy said prevented me from buying any dvd-r unless they're x2 or below. And sometimes I even burned using 1x. Shezzz.....
