Hello,
Was wondering if anyone was using any of the dual core cpus for video capturing and editing and how they were working out.
I was reading some articles and says intel shines better at video and audio encoding but that overal the amd dual cores were faster.
any truths to that ?
thanks

Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

read my post on this subject and follow the BM link it shows how the AMD does next to intel dual core.. to answer your second question.. -
Cheaper than my solution for almost the same gains.

A lot cheaper...
I'll wait until AMD supports DDR2 and then I'll jump inYour base? Well, they belong to me now... -
Meh, DDR2 is not yet up to the level that simple DDR400 has reached. I think it has some maturing to do. Perhaps by the end of the year we'll see some mainstream 2-2-2 timings from DDR2.

I wasn't thinking purely for performance reasons. Once AMD settles there new DDR2 platform (with, unfortunately, a new socket design), they should quit for awile. Thus being the most futureproof entrypoint in the dual-core arena...
Your base? Well, they belong to me now...
