Ok, I know how to convert the raw video data to NTSC, but now i have a problem.. I downloaded a DVD Video_TS Folder, with the menu files and everything.. Well, i would like to convert this to NTSC, but still retain the menu.. When i load the folder into say, Tmpgenc DVD Author, it only loads the titles and chapters, but doesn't retain the menu.. I need the menu, is there a way the I can convert this to NTSC and also have the same menu that came with the original PAL/VOB files?

You must rip the dvd to hd first with dvddecrypter. Rip all files from the DVD.

That's the point, do you really think that i have this program? i mean honestly? i don't have Sonic Scenarist, i don't even have $5,000 to get it for crying out loud.. I asked was there a way to do what i wanted, and the other guy said yes, but it's very complex.. What exactly is complex? I wasn't sent a guide or anything, just links to programs..

What do you want, someone to hold your hand or do it for you? Standards conversions are difficult to do properly and take time, knowledge and skill.

So for crying out loud do some reading. There is no "Standards Conversion for Dummies" book which sounds like what you are looking for.

Damn, I come to "VIDEOhelp".com to get some HELP about a VIDEO problem, and people act as if i'm asking how many atoms are in the Sun.. Obviously i am gonna look for the simple way before I have to read 1 million threads on different sites on the subject.. If there is no guide, you shouldn't of even responded, it isn't that serious, i'll figure it out..

Obviously these forums aren't for helping then, i guess they are for providing links and reffering to other sites that actually knows more on the subject. wow, i ask a question and can't even get an answer, just people getting offended because they can't explain to me..

  10. You'll need to demux the TS older and extract each menu seperately. at this point you convert each menu in a format which works for your authoring application. You would have to reauthor the title.

  11. I researched this and gave up. Too many steps and time consuming. You're better off getting a standalone dvd recorder and feeding a dvd player in it that does PAL, you also might need a macrovision blocker unless you hack your dvd player to play macrovision free (see dvd player reviews for more info)

  12. Either do the recommended thing and get a multi-format DVD player or...

Buy the DVD in NTSC format that you downloaded.

    Quit being a smart ass.

What you want to do is not easy, never has been, never will be. What you are asking is very much indeed on par with something like "how many atoms are in the sun" (which by the way, there are several very good theories, but that too takes reading to learn more on it).

The "easy way" is to either buy the NTSC version (cost of DVD), or if no NTSC version exists, get a player that can play PAL DVDs (as low as $35).
