Anyone here encode real time in a set top recorder then demux to import into a authoring app? I use Bitvice and compressor and sick of these long encode times, especially in Bitvice.
anyone here use this method? How are your results? Which set top recorder gives good quality?

I am currently using the iLo DVDR04...
I do demux (with bbmpeg) after editing with MPEG VCR...
I mainly do the demux so that I can use ffmpeg to encode the MP2 into AC3...
My iLo DVDR04 was a really weird tuner, the quality isn't the best... But just run the source through the inputs...
The quality is as good as the source... I am unsure if there are audio sync issues... dosen't look like there is...
