    whats the best encoder that is optimize to dualcore? I have intel 2.8 dualcore which I want to get the most milage out of it for xvid encoding, in the encoder options the thread number is off so I don't know what to do...

    I think there has been some work done under linux. If you are running windows then I'm afraid that XviD's core simply isn't setup for dual core. None of the XviD devs have dual core setups, so no work has been done under windows.
