  1. First time asker here. I download a Simpsons episode from Morpheus and obviously I try to convert it in TMPGEnc to VCD format and then burn so I can watch it on my DVD-player.

The conversion seems to be fine the material is burned wrong and the conversion seems to have chopped all the frames off, so all I can see is Homer's big mouth when he's talking. It's zooming in, so to speak.

Now, I tried to follow the instructions at Nicky's help http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/AVItoVCD.htm ,but when I tried to write 352 ¤ 288 in the size pixels section the program tells me the numbers need to be dividable by 8. Also, the program automatically changes the frame rate from 25 to all kinds of things.

Can someone tell me excactly how the settings are supposed to be on TMPGEnc when I convert from all kinds of format to VCD in a PAL system? Plz?

Sorry for writing this like a two-year-old.

Read the guide here http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm and I think it will give you a bit more help and save you some time. In the mean time, and this is covered in the guide, you should LOAD the VideoCD (PAL) template from the Template directory in your TMPGEnc install directory. That should output the correct format.

  3. Thnx, I'll see if that works. I completely missed the whole template part. How sad is that? I'll get back to you about the results...
