I am having problmes backing up my purchased DVD's. I downloaded anydvd and Clone DVD. It burnt fine but it will not play on my either of my DVD's
I have played different burnt DVD's on DVD player and i have burnt DVD's through DVD Shrink and they worked. But I was trying to find a better program because DVD shrink is giving me a cycle redundancy error on many of the movies I try to backup.
Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong or why the copeis won't burn on my DVD player.

The CRC errors, if not caused by scratched discs may be a sign that your burner/reader is having problems. It's not usually related to the burning or encoding program, but a read/write error. May need cleaning.
EDIT: Two other possibilities for CRC errors are newer encryption on some discs. DVDDecrypter or the newer DVDFab are two programs that may help. The other possibility is the brand of the disc used to burn. It may be an incompatibility with the burner. You might try a different brand. -
I tried to use DVDdecrypter and it wrote the ISO file no prob but after I tried to shrink it using DVDshrink and it have over 20 different laguage files called "unspecified" and when it burnt to DVD it was really Choppy.
Also by cleaning the DVD drive/burner do you mean just the laser with a cleaning kit? -
I don't know if you saw my edit from above.
Anyway, on cleaning DVD drives. I usually try some 'canned air' first and see if that helps. Sometimes there is a bit of dust and that will clear it. If not, a cleaning disc is one method. I usually use a foam 'Q-tip' and denatured alcohol to clean the lens.
If you were getting a lot of CRCs with most any DVD, then cleaning might be the answer. If just on certain discs, then it may be problems with the newer encryption. I use the latest version of DVDShrink and if it doesn't work, Decrypter. That should get all but a few of the newest ones.
With Shrink, you want to keep the compression above 70% for the best results. Not sure how much you use the program, but I usually deselect any languages I don't use, then select just the main movie, no subtitles. I keep only the 5.1 soundtrack.
If you have done all that and the problem is when you burn, definitely try different media. If you get nowhere with that, then cleaning the drive would be the next step.
