Please give me your recommendations. I am looking for something simple and easy to use but good quality and something that will convert 5.1 and/or DTS audio as well. Thank you very much for your help.

Not sure about 5.1 Audio, but try VSO DivxToDVD. Very easy.

Thanks Redbudz but I would have thought that out of 117 views I would have a few more folks respond, I guess not.

I would think that would be a blessing. I hate getting 117 different suggestions and then have to download and test them all.

I haven't tried Gui4ffmpeg but VSO DivXToDVD is as simple as it gets. You might still be able to find the free version somewhere on the internet but I'm not sure if it will convert 5:1 AC3 or DTS. The new version will but it costs $29.99 to buy.

Tried Guiffrmpeg but I am trying to convert from DIVX to DVD, looks like this software converts from DVD to DIVX, just the opposite of what I am looking for? The freeware version of DIVXtoDVD does not convert AC3 so that is out unfortunately. Thank you for your responses and info but I am still looking if anyone else has any suggetions, thanks again to all.

Maybe TheFilmMachine? 5.1 is not so common on XVID or DIVX vids as most seem to use MP3 audio. TFM mentions AC3, but I didn't notice if 5.1 was available. Most programs that convert audio from MP3 go with AC3 2 channel, at least in the All-in-Ones.

You might have to do it the 'hard' way to keep your 5.1.

gui4ffmpeg first of all thank you for this software and the guide on how to use it. I have used it to convert my divx file to DVD. In so doing it coverted my divx file to mpeg. I am trying to burn the mpeg file it created to a DVDR but I do not know how to do this. Can you possibly tell me what software I need. I have tried burning the DVDR with CloneDVD but I get error message saying file can not be found. I guess this is because it is an mpeg file?? Please help if you can. Thanks again.

With gui4ffmpeg the mpeg file will be generated. Now the DVD has to authored and burned.
    This is my procedure:

    Authoring
    Freeware: Gui for DVDauthor
    Website: https://www.videohelp.com/tools?tool=GUI_for_dvdauthor
    Guide: https://www.videohelp.com/~gfd/GUI_DVDauthor_eng_07.htm

    Burning
Gui for DVDauthor also contains a burning feature, but i never tried this.
    I use Nero.

    Good luck!
