  1. I'm having a heck of a time with this and I have searched and tried just about everything. Anyway I have a XP3000 with 1gb ram running a Leadtek winfast card and also a ATI AIW9600. I recently recorded a couple shows with Power VCR 2. This split the event into 10 mpegs.(720x480 48khz) If I view each mpeg they are fine as far as audio sync. When I author them to DVD the sync progressively gets worse. I have tried TMPGEnc DVD Author , DVD Santa, Ulead DVD studio, etc..(More than I can count) I have also tried VideoRedo with the quickfix and Mpeg VCR. I have merge all of the files into one with Boilersoft(I think) mpeg joiner and this file comes out fine on the audio sync if played by itself yet if I author it the sync goes out? I've De-muxed and re-muxed in TMPGEnc mpeg tools to no avail. I even tried delaying the audio in DVD Santa but it will be fine in the first half then be way off by the middle of the show! I have since stopped using Power VCR and use the Winfast PVR and have no problems but I have these shows that I have to get on DVD. (UFC 53, Pride)
I actually tried authoring just one mpeg thinking it was the merging that was somehow causing this but it also was out of sync?

  2. If you cut the files with Video Redo and then author with TMPGEnc DVD Author and the DVD is out of sync, you must be dropping WAY too many VIDEO frames while capping. The capping software adds padding to the captured file where the video video frames are lost, so that's why the mpeg file plays back fine before you do anything to it. If Video ReDo can't fix it, there is no way to really correct the sync without some MAJOR time and effort. Only sync that's out by the same amount from start to finish is easy to fix. Reencoding *might* fix it.

How come I have no problem when using Wifast PVR? It really sucks as the one event (UFC 53) won't be played again so I got to fix this mpeg. If I can play the mpeg fine with various players because of padding why can't I tell the authoring program to pad the mpeg also? Maybe I can play the dang thing out my video and back to my capture card and re-capture it?
